Katharine McPhee... Connected to Daddy's Purse Strings

Here is Katharine McPhee's new song "Connected" for some Barbie movie. Bitch sure is "connected", otherwise how the hell is she STILL putting out crappy music every month even though she was dropped by her label? More likely, Daddy McPhee is "connected". Though at least this song has less of her obnoxious melisma. Can we all raise money to blacklist her in Hollywood or something? Something must be done.

I forgot how much she sucked. Thanks for reminding me.

It sounds like the theme to a tampon commercial.

Hate to say it, but I liked it. I'll take the Hillary Duff style over the Jessica Simpson shit anytime.

hey this song is on the Mexican pop group RBD's English CD....(don't ask how I know that)

it's much more amusing when they sing it....Katherine even sucks the hilarity from a "so-crappy-it's-funny" song....

I'm all for having her blacklisted....

Ok, the song does suck, but the VIDEO is worse. First, there are way too many threads going at once. There's her singing with the boxes or whatever around her, there's her singing with the headphones held up to her ear (btw, they have those able to fit around your head now, Katy), her and Skinny Blonde Girl singing, her sitting on the stairs singing, her standing in front of the wall of pink death singing, and the barbie movie footage. It looks like they just shot as many different versions as they could and said "fuck it, we'll cut something together" and dumped it on the editor. And the movie footage and singing footage is blended horribly. I'm sorry, I take that back. The movie footage and singing footage ISN'T blended. Does anybody remember that game Make My Video that was on Sega CD? They played some song, had three different streams of footage and you pushed the corresponding button to pick which footage you wanted to go into the song and that specific point. This is SLIGHTLY more competent than that, but only in the way that Applebees is SLIGHTLY better than TGI Friday; it's still shit. There's a couple of lip syncs, some dancing, and a second of general arm raising like it's a Sure Deoderant commercial, but where the hell is the integration of footage? Have some overlays, put the movie on that window between the recording booth and the switchboard. Key it onto those white boxes around the broad when she's singing. Hell, they HAD a green screen for the pink death wall, they could have used it with the movie footage. I mean, did the editor only have Windows Movie Maker or something? This is laziness at an almost aggressive level. And it's inconsistent as to when she's aware of the camera. Sometimes at the microphone she seems completely ignorant of the camera's presence, sometimes she completely spikes the lens. And did NOBODY notice that the hair person made it look like she had a receding hairline in like half the setups? The ONLY good thing about the video is the Requiem For a Dream montage of the recording equipment at the beginning, but at this point that's such a rudimentary visual device that it's about like saying "well, we could see what was going on." Although that might not be a good thing in this case.

Wow! I've been totally waiting, like, forever for Barbie and the Diamond Castle to come out! And if Katharine is singing on the soundtrack, well, like, that's just, like, the icing on the cake! Just the other day I was totally telling my friend Kiki on the phone that, like, Katy Mac (that's what I call Katharine, because it's such a rad nickname for her!) has gotten a bad rap because she's not, like, the greatest singer in the world or whatever, but, I mean, come on, she's so cute and there's no reason that she shouldn't be, like, super-famous! Cuz she's totally like a great role model for girls my age because she used to make herself puke but totally doesn't anymore, and, like, I totally look up to her for overcoming that and still having fun and marrying some old guy which is kinda gross, but whatevs! She deserves it because she's pretty, and if TV and the movies have taught me anything in my thirteen years on this planet, it's that the pretty girls always come out on top unless they're like total sluts.

Then my dad came in and totally started, like, screaming at me. He was like, "Why are you on the phone? You're grounded!" and I was like, "Shut up, Dad! I hate you!" and he was like "Baby, don't be that way," and I was like, "I wish I was dead!" and then he started crying or whatever and I almost felt bad but not really because being grounded is totally bogus. God, I hate my life!

Whatevs. Go McPhee!

Once TPTB in Hollyweird latch on to someone they like, they'll keep putting them into new projects(that flop one after another) no matter how many bad reviews it gets.

For instance, can anyone name even 1 movie where Jessica Alba was the main lead character that didn't flop in the theaters? She's hot but, you'll have a hard time finding any major reviewer who thinks she can act her way out of a paper bag.

No doubt this is what is going on with the McP right now.

You guys continually tick me off. Sorry, but Katherine must be somewhat good or they wouldn't ask her to do things. Deal with it... and be a little more respectful.
