Chris Sligh's Heart Is As Big As His Belly

There's a bummer of a story about a teen who was killed recently on her way to see a Chris Sligh concert. But VFTW's favourite Big Boy shows once again that he's a good guy and a class act (especially compared to all the self-absorbed douchebags we've seen on Idol) by doing an upcoming benefit concert for her. According to StarExponent.Com...

On Aug. 29, Culpeper teen Kelsey Orndorff was on her way to a Chris Sligh concert in Fredericksburg. Kelsey, 17, never got to see the “American Idol” finalist perform. She died when her car crossed the center line and veered head-on into traffic.
In the wake of the tragedy, Sligh, a Christian singer, became aware of Orndorff’s story. On Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. in the Culpeper County High School auditorium, he will hold a benefit concert in her memory. (click on link for more details)

VFTW's known for a long time Chris is a good guy. Very kind gesture, Big Boy. If you're in the area, be sure to go and show your support.

That's terrible Kelsey Orndorff died such a way. I'm very happy the way Chris is going to honor her.

Keep that big heart of yours pumping! :)

If a fan died on a way to a Jason Castro show, Jason would ask "Did she have anything for me?" or "Did she happen to own a Mac Book?"

Good on Sligh for doing this.

It is truly sad.

But sorry to hear that about of on Sligh's fans. You are good guy Sligh.

Inspirational. He's still my favorite Idol contestant of all time and it's great to see him not only making the most of his talents when so many other Idol rejects simply fade away into obscurity, but he's also making good for his fans and the people around him. Really awesome.

What a nice gesture, Chris. I think it's great that her band is going to be opening for you. I'm sure the community will really appreciate it.

That so sweet of him. My daughter got a full scholarship to the Idol Camp this past summer - and he spent the day there with the kids. Don't think I heard anything about that on any news reports. Guess when you do something good it just isn't good press.

He's a good guy.
