Chris Richardson Resurfaces as Justin Timberlake Clone
Posted by thefunnystone on November 18, 2008 - 9:25pm
This is really sad. Chris Richardson finally surfaces after fading into obscurity to put out his remix of one of the worst songs of the year, T-Pain's "Can't Believe It". Chris makes it worse by talking about bacon and Sarah Palin. Even more ridiculous? This is almost exactly the same thing Justin Timberlake already did. Though Justin's is legal. Please do something original, Chris.

Poor Gaspy. His fantards tried their best, but again he falls short of ever hitting #1. Gaspy's self-titled album will debut on the charts at #2 this week, according to Hits Daily Double, incredibly far behind Taylor Swift. The album's sales are OK, but nothing spectacular at 180,460. That might be enough for Jeff to give him half a glass of water in celebration. Post your thoughts in the comments section. Was this a decent debut or is Gaspy the next Blake Lewis?

Ex-American Idol producer (man, it feels good to say that) Nigel Lythgoe ranted to the New York Post about Idol's new changes. Nigel, sounding bitter about probably being fired, said, “I don’t like fourth judges. I think once you’ve been told ‘You suck,’ you don’t need to be told another three times." Oh really, Nigel? Reality Blurred makes the awesome point that "his criticism makes little sense. It’s not okay to be told “you suck” four times, but three times is perfectly fine? And seriously, this is the man who produced a show that delights in torturing its contestants during elimination episodes for our alleged entertainment." Hilariously true. And then Nigel clarifies that he didn't mind a fourth judge as a guest, just not permanently. So apparently it's OK to be told you suck four times as long as one of the times is from a guest. It's so nice to see him gone. He clearly was one of the people fucking this show up beyond recognition.

Paula Rehabdul's publicist Jeff Ballard said on Friday that Paula is most certainly not leaving Idol. Sounds like spin to us. A little birdy told the Los Angeles Times that Paula's camp may have instigated the "leaving" rumor to try for a higher salary renegotiation when her contract is up. Stupid move, Paula. The show has been trying to get rid of you for years due to your behavior, and you're giving them the out. Guess we'll see what happens. Hopefully Paula does not sleep with any of the contestants this year to speed up her exit.

WGA Workers Handcuffed for Spreading the Truth
Posted by thefunnystone on November 16, 2008 - 6:32pm
Three Writer's Guild of America members were surrounded, detained, and handcuffed as they attempted to pass out flyers outside the Hollywood and Highland Center. The members were peacefully passing out flyers about Fremantle Media and its unfair labor practices for its workers, something that has been done by many groups in the past without incident, when the center's security guards handcuffed them. Lame. What makes us think the Idol people put the the guards up to this? A lawsuit is being considered against the security guards, according to Deadline Hollywood Daily.

Chris Sligh's Heart Is As Big As His Belly
Posted by smarterthanpickler on November 16, 2008 - 12:29amThere's a bummer of a story about a teen who was killed recently on her way to see a Chris Sligh concert. But VFTW's favourite Big Boy shows once again that he's a good guy and a class act (especially compared to all the self-absorbed douchebags we've seen on Idol) by doing an upcoming benefit concert for her. According to StarExponent.Com...
On Aug. 29, Culpeper teen Kelsey Orndorff was on her way to a Chris Sligh concert in Fredericksburg. Kelsey, 17, never got to see the “American Idol” finalist perform. She died when her car crossed the center line and veered head-on into traffic.
In the wake of the tragedy, Sligh, a Christian singer, became aware of Orndorff’s story. On Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. in the Culpeper County High School auditorium, he will hold a benefit concert in her memory. (click on link for more details)
VFTW's known for a long time Chris is a good guy. Very kind gesture, Big Boy. If you're in the area, be sure to go and show your support.

Palin For President...Bristol Palin!
Corny and awful. The Rock of Ages cast stopped by Late Night with Conan O'Brien. And if it wasn't bad and corny enough already, resident greaseball Constantine Maroulis screams out an incredibly out of tune high note at 3:40. Only watch it if you're a true masochist.

Paula Abdul Says She's Gone After American Idol 8
Posted by thefunnystone on November 14, 2008 - 12:34pm
Drunken mess Paula Abdul says she wants to leave American Idol after season 8. OK Magazine reports that Paula is leaving to work on other projects (aka she was fired so she can go to rehab). As if we didn't call this months ago, Idol must have brought in Kara DioGuardi to replace Paula to ease the transition. As much as we mock her, we're gonna miss Paula when she's gone. Who else will mess up the producers' script and reveal to us that the show is rigged? Kara better be a world class train wreck to replace the one that's leaving.
