Well we had the gender wrong. Meet Taylor Vaifanua, the contestant that the judges are creaming their pants over. She's got a website, a CD, and a MySpace. Guess we'll be seeing her in the voting rounds. What do you think?

JoesPlace has updated our list with 4 names that have made it to the top 50 this year. The top 50 means that they have made it to the "chair" episode but might not make it to voting. This is pretty big though.

The 4 names who are in the top 50: Michael Bartul, Ryan P. A. Johnson (pictured left), and two people we already told you were judge favorites: Stephen Fowler and the mystery guy named Taylor.

We've gotten word from even more sources that David Osmond was definitely cut in Hollywood for singing terribly. It isn't looking good for him! Some early standouts we're hearing about are a pianist named Stephen Fowler, last year's Hollywood contestant Angela Martin, a goth guy named Adam, and a guy named Ju'Not that Paula has the hots for.

Also, we've been hearing from multiple sources that there will be more than a top 24 this year. It's rumored that there is a top 36 instead. Sounds like it might be a giant group to hide some plants in? Guess we'll see what happens. A top 36 could be interesting. 

Edited to Add: UPDATE. Sharon Wilbur was cut during Hollywood. Yay! And Ju'Not's full name is Ju'Not Joyner. Apparently Ju'Not was the "star" of Hollywood. Also, Adam seems to be openly gay.

In case you don't know the background on AI8 superplant Joanna Pacitti, here is the story. Whine whine whine. Later she was signed to Geffen Records, recorded songs for movie soundtracks, and released an album that tanked. Seems to be Carlyplant all over again.

We've heard some more American Idol 8 Hollywood round spoilers from two seemingly credible sources. It seems that:

• David Osmond may have been cut during the first round in Hollywood. We hope so, this would be hilariously awesome! Rumors are that the guy was being incredibly cocky, so it could make for entertaining television. The Bikini Girl from the preview we posted was also cut immediately in Hollywood (not a shock).
• The following people were cut in Hollywood: Anna Kaelin (Gaspy's vocal coach's daughter), a girl named Rose (maybe her).
• The following people were cut, but not sure at what point: Heather Elmer, Skyler Holman, Loren Allred.
• The judges have a favorite this year named Taylor. Could it be Taylor Graves?

The Osmonds had a Christmas concert last night, and little David Archuleta was there to sing with future American Idol 8 Hollywood superplant David Osmond. Maybe Gaspy will give the Osmond tips on how to wheeze and bashfully laugh every time the judges fawn over you. Either way, if the Osmond makes the top 24 this year, the show is officially done for.

MJ's Big Blog posted a video preview of American Idol 8. Looks like the judges are trying to help VFTW for once. Good to hear!
